Ba Zhen Tang tonifies the qi and blood and strengthens the functions of the spleen and liver. It is indicated in cases of double qi and blood vacuity syndrome marked by: dizziness, vertigo, tiredness of the four limbs, shortness of breath, sluggishness of speech, palpitations, anorexia, pale tongue, thin white coating, thin, weak or empty pulse, large and weak. Ba Zhen Tang can be used for general weakness during convalescence, various chronic diseases, weight loss, irregular periods, blood loss after childbirth, abscesses and boils that are difficult to heal, etc., if there are signs of double qi and blood vacuity.
