Melasma

Melasma

Melasma is a benign, usually chronic skin disease that manifests itself through dark brownish spots that generally appear in young adults.

It appears mainly on the face and can be caused by hormonal changes, sun exposure without adequate protection (factor 50), genetics, medications and cosmetics, zinc deficiency, among others.
Its appearance during pregnancy is common and does not always recede completely.
We leave you with a daily routine that we recommend for melasma.
  • Cleanse your skin with Rosemary Soap and use a Konjac Sponge . This will gently remove the superficial layer of fat and dead skin, promoting oxygenation and recovery – it can be used every day.
  • Tone with Rose and Rosemary Hydrolate . It is important to let the skin absorb this nutrient-rich water.
  • Hydration :

Exfoliate your skin once a week with Bamboo Facial Scrub on your face, or Algarve Sea Salt on your body. a spoonful of Saccorhiza Seaweed * ( add a vegetable oil to promote the fluidity of the process, preparing the skin for the treatments and care that we will apply throughout the week.) ; After exfoliation, you should do the appropriate hydration.

Saccorhiza Seaweed Mask 1x per week - add a little water to the seaweed and spread the serum that is created over the face or area of the body with melasma, using a brush and, finally, apply the seaweed directly to the stain and leave it to act for 10 minutes. If you do not want to apply the seaweed directly to the skin, place a gauze over the stain and the seaweed on the gauze;

*Saccorhiza Seaweed is not recommended for people with thyroid problems, unless under medical advice.

It is important to alternate exfoliation days with mask days .
In your daily routine, always use factor 50 sunscreen on your face.
In cases where this routine reduces the stain but does not completely resolve the issue, you should speak to your dermatologist to discuss the best option; sometimes, laser treatment as a complement is the most appropriate.
